Sports Law

Professional sports today revolve around far more than athletic performance alone - the field is embedded in a complex economic and legal context which has considerable influence.

Where objective contradiction in interests between top athletes and national or international associations arise, a constructive solution must be found. The optimization of an athlete's career must be considered, as must the business interests of all parties involved including sports organizations and sponsors. All of this takes place amidst tensions between private, autonomous or globally unified sports law and differing national legal systems, which may or may not be mandatory.
